5 REASONS WHY MENTAL CLARITY IS SO IMPORTANT

Many a time we have our thoughts scattered and not able to focus on any one thought. We feel as if we are unable to think straight. I would love to call it as “squirrel Brain”.

When our brain is fogged and riddled with indecisiveness, not able to make those choices in everyday life. There is a continuous monologue which becomes overwhelming to the point where we are not able to finish a thought, not able to even attempt a to-do list.

When our focus is blurred, its very easy to listen to that small voice which is talking to us from behind our ear. We are more likely to give in to that voice which is our inner critic and let go of our goals which we had been working for. This causes frustration and the clarity of our goal is lost.

So mental clarity should be our daily goal, which makes us feel more positive, productive and content as we had been able to accomplish our goals. So let us look in to different aspects of clarity and achieving our goals:-

What is Mental Clarity?

Most of the time we have so many thoughts running through our minds which clutter our mind, does not allow clear thinking and focused attention to what we are doing. It causes indecisiveness, doubts, worry and confusion.

When I over think and look at my to-do list it becomes very difficult to decide what should I begin with, then I talk myself out and end up doing nothing out of the list.

Mental clarity feels the opposite of a foggy mind. When I’m focused, away from distractions, and free of self-doubt, I feel like I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. With a clear mind, I don’t worry about what could go wrong because those thoughts don’t have the access to cross my mind. I’m ultimately able to take action more easily knowing that I’m doing things that align with my goals.

Why Mental Clarity is Important?

Many people speak about positive mindset but I feel it is more important to have clear mindset. So much of our brain space is taken up with unwanted banter and continuous chit chatting with our small voice which wants to protect us and keep us safe from any difficult situations. So, we have to vacate some space and have clarity to have space to think clearly. We generally clean our cupboards to remove the unwanted stuff and realign all the things in an organized way , this exactly applies to our mind too.

Here are five reasons why mental clarity is so important:

1. Clarity enables us to focus and find direction:-

When you have clarity around your goals and priorities, it’s easier to

move towards what you want out of life.

2. Clarity helps you to do things:-

When you’re clear on the reasoning behind why you’re doing something,

it’s so much easier to get things done.

3. Prioritizing becomes easy:-

Mental clarity helps you to make decisions with ease instead of

overthinking. It also makes it easier to organize an overwhelming to-do

list and decide what to work on first.

4. Pushes you through doubts:-

Mental clarity helps you to see yourself honestly and non-

judgmentally. A clear and focused mind won’t even entertain any

worrying and doubting thoughts.

5. Clarity helps you feel content:-

Mental clarity allows you to see things as they are. It gives you the

awareness to appreciate the little things that often go unnoticed so you

can feel more content with what is.

Am I lacking mental clarity? Answer these questions to yourself

Q.1 Do I question myself constantly?

Q.2 Do I ask advice from others always?

Q.3 Not sure what to do first?

Q.4 Many ideas but you don’t put them into action?

Q.5 You start projects but don’t finish them?

How to create clarity daily?

To have mental clarity is not a single day business, we have to work upon it everyday with dedication and consistency.

If you’re craving for more clarity in your life to feel focused, here are five ways to help achieve it every day:

1. Defined daily routine :-

Definite daily routine helped me to eliminate confusion, procrastination and immediate decision making. The three things that I have incorporated in to my morning routine which has helped me to have clarity in my head before the day starts:-

· Journaling — gets my random thoughts and doubts out of my head

· Meditation — creates quiet moments away from the chatter of my mind.

· Workout — gives me a chance to focus on my body instead of my thoughts

2.Focus on your vision:-

I have made a list of things I have to accomplish in my life time. I look at them every day to remind myself to be working towards achieving them. This does not allow me to get distracted or to compare myself with others. I know what’s important to me and what the path I want to take looks like.

3.Prioritise to avoid distraction:-

Defining my life and work priorities has been a game-changer, helping me to keep a clear mind. Instead of overthinking where I should put my time and energy, I go through my priorities list to help me decide. Knowing what your top three priorities are will help you to make decisions from a place of alignment.

4. Plan your day the night before:-

The most difficult thing is if I don’t have a plan when to do and how to do till the time arrives for doing it. So, time blocking the to do list the previous night would put me in good start in the morning without any last-minute tension or confusion. My mind is clearer at night than when I first wake up so I’m more motivated to schedule things out.

5.Take action :-

Action creates clarity. Until we don’t take action we would never know if the decision was right or wrong. Stop overthinking, make a decision and roll with it. You will learn whether we made the right decision or not, and can course-correct if necessary.
